I know, I know…I can’t even watch the Golden Globes without imagining which of those fabulous gowns might be suitable as a wedding dress. I saw plenty of paler colored dresses on the red carpet this year that could certainly do the job…but here are my top 3 picks.
My favorite of the whole night was Drew Barrymore. Sometimes she gets it completely wrong but this time she really nailed out in this gorgeous nude Atelier Versace with crystal embellishments. So so gorgeous!
I also adore Emily Blunt in this wispy pink D&G number…it sort of reminds me of the Reem Acra goddess gowns we’ve been seeing on brides over the past few years…but the pink color makes it fresh & new.
I thought Kate Hudson looked the most bridal in this white Marchesa. I like how it’s quite structured but her hair just didn’t do it for me. Still, it would make a lovely wedding dress.
Who else rocked my world?
Marion Cotillard looks like royalty in this Christian Dior!
Diane Kruger looks like a beautiful flower in this Christian Lacroix.
January Jones channels Audrey Hepburn in this amazing black ruffled Lanvin gown.
I also thought that Helen Mirren looked absolutely divine but I couldn’t find a picture of her…what gives?
What do you guys think, who was your favorite? Would you consider wearing a couture designer gown instead of a traditional wedding dress?

Wearing white was never part of my plans (I’m Indian – we don’t wear white wedding gowns) but I did want to wear a fabulous gown so I worked with a local designer to come up with a gorgeous violet and magenta concoction. It looked like a cross between the gowns worn by Sandra Bullock (colors, fabric) and Emily Blunt (shape, draping) and so many of my friends commented that they wished they could have worn something like what I wore – why couldn’t they! There’s no rule that you have to wear white!

Oh yes, yes, yes! I guess when not constrained by the “bride” tag you can afford to be that little bit more experimental and ultimately fabulous.

I think you can defo step away from the traditional wedding dress and step into a gown – this is exactly what I’m working on with a client at the moment. She wants to wear her wedding dress again and again and with a gown you really can!

My favorite was Jen Aniston because it was very simple but she still looked very elegant and only she could wear a dress with such a high slit

Did anyone else adore Lea Michele’s Romonza Keveza Grammy gown as much as I did? So elegant and beautiful. I must be partial because I was recently wed in a beautiful Romona Keveza couture gown and for a woman who normally feels ‘plain jane’ I must say I felt like I was the most beautiful bride on earth that day. The way that dress made my body look made my mind feel at ease and confident. Such an amazing day thanks to Romona Keveza… (and my hubby of course
